Indraprastha university strengthens global ties with Canadian varsity

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) on Saturday hosted a high-level delegation from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, as part of its drive to expand international collaborations and strengthen its global academic presence.

The delegation, led by Dr Darcy Marciniuk, associate vice-president (Research), included senior officials such as Dr Sarah Forgie, dean of the College of Medicine; Dr Anurag Saxena, professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine; Dr Cory Neudorf, professor of Community Health and Epidemiology; Dr Meghna Ramaswamy, director of the International Office; and Dan Zhao, international partnerships specialist.

The meeting, chaired by GGSIPU vice-chancellor Prof Mahesh Verma, focused on exploring joint research projects, student and faculty exchange programmes, collaborative grant applications and co-hosted academic events. Both sides also discussed partnerships aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and initiatives aimed at strengthening parameters used in global rankings such as QS and THE.

Calling global collaboration “central to the future of higher education,” Prof Verma said the engagement with the University of Saskatchewan would open new avenues in interdisciplinary research, healthcare innovation and internationalisation.
