A 57-year-old Indian Revenue Service officer allegedly committed suicide on Wednesday by hanging from the ceiling fan at his house in central Delhi’s Chanakyapuri area, police said.

The victim has been identified as Keshav Saxena, a resident of Bapu Dham in Chanakyapuri, they said.

He hanged himself from the ceiling fan with the help of a bedsheet in his study room at around 7 am on Wednesday, a senior police officer said.

The victim was taken to Primus hospital by his family where he was declared brought dead, police said.

Saxena’s family members said he was under depression, police said.

A suicide note has been recovered from the spot and further investigation is underway, police added. PTI
