“If two crore people of Delhi are hurt, I am hurt,” said AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Friday while announcing government funds for Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) to appoint security guards, if voted to power.

From thefts to gang wars, crime was rising unchecked, said the AAP chief alleging BJP’s neglect of Delhiites. “If AAP forms the government, all RWAs will be provided with appropriate funds from the Delhi government to appoint security guards in their areas. A systematic approach will be developed to ensure fairness and proper implementation.” he announced.

Funds will be allocated to RWAs to appoint private security guards in their neighborhoods. He further said that the AAP government had introduced measures to ensure safety like the installation of CCTV cameras across Delhi.

“These cameras have made it easier to control crime and apprehend criminals. Similarly, security guards appointed through RWAs, funded by the government, will provide safety to residents. This is another guarantee we are making in this election,” affirmed Kejriwal.

“Over the past several days, people from across Delhi have been coming to meet me. I, too, have been traveling across Delhi, talking to people. The BJP-led central government, especially under Union Home Minister Amit Shah, has turned Delhi into the crime capital of the country.” he said.

“The crime rate has skyrocketed—there are rampant thefts, open robberies, chain snatching incidents, and even gang wars. Women find it difficult to step out of their homes. People are extremely scared and feel highly insecure,” stated the former Delhi Chief Minister.
