Tensions betwen the L-G and AAP have escalated into a full-blown confrontation, with a letter from L-G VK Saxena to former CM Kejriwal, in which he sharply criticised the state of Delhi’s civic infrastructure.

The L-G wrote, “Thank you for finally acknowledging, after 10 years, the deteriorating state of civic amenities in Delhi. In your post on ‘X’ today, you mentioned ‘our team,’ which refers to the same officials/departments who accompanied me on my tour of Rangpuri and Kapashera on December 21, 2024, and with whom I discussed potential solutions to these issues.”

The L-G continued, “I would have appreciated it if you had paid attention to Delhi government schools, where students from two different classes are seated back-to-back in the same room and taught by ghost teachers. It would have been helpful if you had addressed the dilapidated state of Mohalla Clinics, where doctors are absent and ghost patients receive prescriptions without tests. Moreover, I would have been pleased if you had worked on improving the government hospitals, where medicines are scarce, premises are dirty, and doctors are frequently absent.”

In response to this, the AAP party issued a statement, accusing the BJP and the LG of attempting to shift blame and evade responsibility. The party also took a swipe at the LG, saying, “The Lieutenant Governor seems more interested in politics than fulfilling his sole responsibility—law and order, which is in complete disarray and worsening by the day.”
