The sources further said that Modi was arrested in connection with an FIR registered against him at New Friends Colony police station in Southeast district.
“He was taken into custody at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport while preparing to board a flight. He was then produced in court and sent to police custody. He will be produced before the court again on Friday,” said the source.
The case against Modi stems from a complaint filed earlier by his former live-in partner. “They further alleged that the woman had demanded Rs 50 crore to resolve the dispute,” said an official on condition of anonymity.
A senior police official told The Tribune that a look our circular (LOC) was already issued against Samir Modi and he was arrested by immigration department officers, who handed over him to police after due process for further probe.
More details are awaited.
