Delhi woke up to a pleasantly cold morning on Sunday as the minimum temperature dipped below 8 °C. The maximum settled at 24.7°C, according to data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The day was mostly sunny with partly cloudy skies in several areas, offering a brief respite from the harsh cold spell witnessed earlier in the week. Lodhi Road was the coldest in the city, recording a lowest temperature at 7.4°C.

The IMD has forecast a 2–3°C rise in minimum temperatures over the next 24 hours, likely to bring slight relief from the early morning chill. For the next three days, the minimum temperatures are likely to remain in the normal range (-1.5°C to 1.5°C) and might dip thereafter, going below normal by 1.6°C to 3°C.

The maximum temperatures are expected to hover between normal to slightly below normal for the next six days, before turning above normal by 1.6°C to 3°C on December 13.

The city might experience partly cloudy skies on December 7, 9, 12 and 13. The morning hours over the next two days will see mist or haze, followed by shallow fog between December 10 and 13, the IMD said.

Delhi is expected to record a minimum temperature between 8°C and 10°C and a maximum between 24°C and 26°C on Monday. Similar conditions will prevail till December 10, with daytime temperatures settling between 23°C and 25°C. Despite a slight improvement, the city’s air quality continued to remain a concern. At 4 pm, Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 308, placing it yet again in the “very poor” category.
