Addressing the media, Sirsa alleged that the former Deputy Chief Minister and former Health Minister had “looted the people of Delhi in the name of education”.
He said the ACB’s move to summon the two leaders marked the beginning of the truth coming to light. “This is how the people of Delhi were misled and exploited in the name of government schools,” he said.
Sirsa accused the AAP government of manipulating rates and processes to benefit a few selected contractors.
“The ACB has sent summons to two of the most corrupt leaders of the AAP, Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain, over a classroom construction scam. Just imagine, they fixed the rate for temporary classroom construction at Rs 8,800 per square foot, in which 5-star hotels could be built with furniture. What kind of massive scam does that point to?” he asked.
He further alleged that the AAP government arbitrarily selected 34 contractors and awarded them work worth Rs 2,000 crore. “These leaders finalised the contractors and set the rates themselves. Now the time has come for Sisodia and Jain to be held accountable for the loot carried out in the name of school classrooms in Delhi,” he added.
