Man arrested for murdering 3-yr-old stepson

The Faridabad police have arrested a man for the murder of his 3-year-old stepson after kidnapping him in Ballabgarh area. The police have taken the accused on one-day police remand after producing him in a city court on Friday.

According to the police, a woman resident of Ballabgarh had filed a complaint that about a year ago she had married a man named Prashant and that she had a 3-year-old son from the first marriage. She said Prashant had gone somewhere with her son on October 19.

Following the complaint, an FIR was registered at Ballabgarh City police station. While investigating, the police arrested the accused Prashant (27), a resident of Arya Nagar, Ballabgarh, on Friday, who confessed to having murdered the child. The child's body was recovered from among some bushes in the Sector 58 Industrial Area.

“During interrogation, the accused revealed that he had repeatedly asked his wife to send the boy to his grandparents' house but she did not budge. On October 19, she was not at home, he beat the boy and punched him in the stomach. The child started vomiting, and Prashant, on the pretext of taking him to a doctor, got him on a motorcycle. Prashant then killed him and threw the body in Sector 58. We are questioning the accused," a police spokesperson said.
