A 52-year-old man was charred to death after a fire broke out at a house in the Tilak Nagar area, West Delhi, while five members of a family, including three children, were injured after a gas cylinder exploded at their house in North Delhi, the police said on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Sunil Kumar Ginotra (52). He was alone at the house when the incident took place.

According to the police, a PCR call regarding a fire at a house was received in the morning hours.
After receiving the call, police and fire brigade teams reached the spot and brought the fire under control.
Preliminary inquiry suggests that the fire started due to a short-circuit in the office godown located on the ground floor of the premises, an official said.

The deceased was alone at the time of the incident. He died on the spot, the police officer added.
The house where the fire broke out belongs to the cousin of the deceased, the official mentioned.
The body has been shifted to Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Prima facie, no foul play is suspected. Further investigation is on in the case, the police officer said.
In another incident, a couple and their three children were injured after a cooking gas cylinder exploded in their house, causing three walls of a room to collapse in the Kishan Ganj area of north Delhi.
The police said the injured persons were identified as Hazrat (40), his wife Rukshar (38), their sons Hussan (7) and Chhote (5), and daughter Afiya (6). The fire was caused by a gas leak due to the cylinder being left on, officials added.
The incident took place around 9.22 am on Monday when a fire-related call was received from near the Pratap Nagar Metro station at Nai Basti, Kishan Ganj, an official said.
According to reports, a cooking gas cylinder exploded, causing a fire in which several people suffered burns, the cop added.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the fire was caused by a gas leak from the cylinder being left on.
The authorities are examining all aspects of the incident, and damage to the building is being assessed, the officer added.
