Man dupes people with job offers at airport, arrested

Interested, Singh transferred Rs 5,500 via Google Pay as a registration fee. Later, when he received his ID card by mail, he was asked to pay an additional Rs 15,000. After completing the payment, Singh said Manoj switched off his phone and stopped responding.
Alarmed by this, Singh complained with the authorities, and an FIR was registered under Section 318(4) of the BNS. After a three-day investigation, 33-year-old Manoj, who had allegedly duped numerous job seekers by promising lucrative airport jobs, has been arrested by the Cyber Police, South West district. According to the police, the money accrued fraudulently had been credited to an Indian Bank account, but the account holder’s details could not be verified initially. Manoj had also switched off his phone after committing the fraud.
Manoj admitted that he contacted vulnerable job seekers, offering airport jobs. He operated in multiple areas and relied on the relatively low amount to avoid police attention.
