Man gets 20 years for gang rape of minor
The court of Additional Sessions Judge Dr Ashu Sanjeev Tinjan at the special POCSO Court in Nuh has sentenced the main accused to 20 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 70,000 in connection with the gang rape of a minor in 2022.
According to a spokesperson of Nuh police, the case dates back to May 2022, when the 16-year-old victim had gone to her fields to collect fodder. At that time, two youths arrived on a motorcycle, forcibly abducted her and took her via the Tauru railway line to a spot where a car was already parked. Four other youths were present in the vehicle.
All six then drove the girl to a secluded location near Sohna, where four of the accused took turns to sexually assault her.
The accused had also threatened the victim with dire consequences and tried to blackmail her by recoding an obscene video. After committing the crime, they fled, leaving the victim on Sohna Road. The victim’s family was contacted through the local police.
Following the complaint of the victim, an FIR was registered against six accused, including four named individuals, under the POCSO Act along and other relevant sections of the IPC at Tauru Sadar Police Station.
“While investigating, the police arrested the accused Naseem, a resident of Rupahedi village. A charge sheet was filed on the basis of a medical report and other evidence. The case was heard in the court for nearly three years. On the basis of which, the court convicted the accused Naseem and on Tuesday sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 70,000 on him”, said a spokesperson of Nuh police.
