Man held for murdering wife

The police have arrested a man who had murdered his wife, whom he killed by striking with a brick on June 16 in their rented room in the IMT-Manesar area. The accused said he had committed the murder after overhearing his wife talking to someone on her mobile phone while in the bathroom.

The accused has been identified as Rajkumar (47), a native of Bargwa village in Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh. He was arrested on Friday near the KMP Highway.

On June 16, the police found the body of a woman soaked in blood on the bed in a room in IMT-Manesar area. The deceased woman was identified as Rupa Devi (44), a resident of Bareilly in UP. At the time, her husband was not present at the scene. An FIR for murder was registered at the IMT police station and the body was handed over to the family after the post-mortem.

During the investigation, Rajkumar confessed to the murder of his wife.
