According to officials, the accused was once a friend of the woman. However, after her marriage, she distanced herself from him, which the accused reportedly did not accept.
Despite her repeated refusals, the man allegedly continued to pressure her for an extramarital affair. This led to a confrontation near Mangal Bazar Road in New Mustafabad around 7 pm on Thursday.
When officers reached the spot, they found the injured had already been rushed to GTB Hospital by her family. Doctors confirmed she was undergoing treatment for stab injuries.
A case has been registered under Section 109 (1) and attempt to murder of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Dayalpur Police Station.
