According to the police, they got information today around 9.00am that near a T-junction in Sector 15 (Part 2), a man had stabbed a woman and fled while the victim lay injured. A police team reached the spot and rushed the victim to hospital where doctors declared her dead. The woman was identified as Dhanni aka Papita. She was raising her children while working as a domestic help.

According to the complaint filed by the brother of the deceased, Karan used to beat her every day. Karan was arrested within hours of the FIR being filed, a police spokesperson said.

“He lived with his wife and children in Patel Nagar, Gurugram, and worked as a sweeper with a salon. He moved to Pitampura after a domestic quarrel, a month back. Keeping the grudge of an old fight, he bought a knife for Rs 60 and murdered his wife by stabbing her four-five times,” the spokesperson added.
