Man shot dead minutes before b’day in Shahdara

The police arrested two persons — Kunal (28) and Akshit (27) — in this regard. The accused called the victim, Gagan, to settle a dispute.
The police received information about the incident around 11:09 pm on Friday. When the police reached the spot, they came to know that the victim was taken to GTB Hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
A case was registered and two persons were arrested in this regard, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Prashant Gautam said.
During probe, the police came to know that Gagan had an altercation with the accused at a club two days ago. According to the police, the accused were known to Gagan and they were being interrogated.
The father of the deceased said Gagan went outside to meet his friend. He hugged someone and, in that brief moment, the man pulled out a weapon and shot him. Before fleeing, the assailant also fired two rounds into the air.
Gagan was married and had a 10-day-old son. His family members have demanded strict action against the accused.
Gagan was a bad character of the Shahdara police station. He had four cases registered against him. Five days ago, he was arrested in an assault case and was later released on bail.
