Man shot dead near Jama Masjid Seelampur, police probe underway

The victim has been identified as Misbah (22), a resident of Gali No. 7, Jaffarabad.
The police received information about the incident around 10:40 p.m. on Thursday and a team immediately rushed to the spot.
Upon reaching the scene, officers found a man lying injured on the road. He was taken to Jag Pravesh Chandra (JPC) Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
According to the police, forensic teams have examined the scene of crime and collected evidence, while multiple teams have been formed to trace and arrest the accused.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased was involved in seven criminal cases, including murder, attempt to murder, robbery, and violations of the Arms Act.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Police station Seelampur, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the motive behind the murder.
Officials said the area remains under surveillance, and efforts were being made to identify those behind the firing using CCTV footage and local intelligence.
