According to the complaint filed by Raghuraj Singh, a resident of Aali Village, the incident occurred around noon on October 24 when he was driving to Lajpat Nagar. Two bike-borne men stopped his car near Ashok Netaji Market, Aali Extension. One of them, identified as Mohit, struck the windshield with a steel rod. When the complainant stepped out, Mohit allegedly hit him on the right knee, causing him to fall, and continued to assault him while issuing threats.

An unknown woman and a rickshaw puller intervened, prompting Mohit and his associate to flee. Based on the complaint, a case was registered at Sarita Vihar police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The police conducted a raid at Anand Vihar Bus Terminal and apprehended the accused. During interrogation, he confessed to his involvement in the case.

Mohit, a school dropout, was engaged in buying and selling second-hand laptops in Nehru Place. He has a criminal record of a similar nature at Sarita Vihar police station.

During questioning, Mohit told the cops that the complainant had been making regular complaints to the MCD, the police and the DDA regarding construction at his property in Aali Village. Following these complaints, civic agencies scheduled a demolition drive at his property. The police said the accused attacked the complainant to take revenge for these actions.

He will be produced before court for further proceedings, the police said.
