Former prime minister Manmohan Singh’s ashes were immersed in the Yamuna river at Ashta Ghat near Manju ka Tila gurdwara on Sunday morning.

The family members of Singh immersed the ashes into the Yamuna river.

The ashes were collected from the Nigambodh Ghat on Sunday morning by Singh’s family members and later taken to the ‘Asht Ghat’ on the Yamuna river bank near the gurdwara.

Singh’s wife Gursharan Kaur, their three daughters—Upinder Singh, Daman Singh and Amrit Singh—along with other relatives were present at the immersion site.

The family has scheduled an akhand path at Dr Singh’s residence on January 1, 2025.

Antim ardas and kirtan will be held at Gurdwara Rakabganj on January 3 evening.

The antim ardas will be the memorial service.
