The Faridabad police have arrested the mastermind of an extortion gang that targeted innocent men by filing false rape cases against them to extort money. The accused, Mukesh Narwat, 40, a resident of Green Field Colony in Faridabad, is alleged to have extorted Rs 33 lakh from a Delhi resident, Dhiraj, after a false rape case was filed against him by Pinki, a woman employed at his spa. Dhiraj spent five months in jail due to this fabricated case.

According to police reports, Dhiraj, a resident of Vishwakarma Colony in Prahaladpur, Delhi, had a fake rape case registered against him in July 2023. Mukesh Narwat initially demanded Rs 50 lakhs to withdraw the case, but Dhiraj refused to pay and was subsequently imprisoned. While Dhiraj was incarcerated, Narwat managed to extort Rs 33 lakh from Dhiraj's family to facilitate the withdrawal of the case.

Following Dhiraj's complaint, an FIR was registered at Mujesar police station in September 2024. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed, leading to the arrest of Mukesh Narwat on Tuesday. He has been remanded to police custody for three days after being presented in a city court.

During interrogation, Narwat disclosed that he owns a spa center in Crown Mall, Sector 37. He had lured Dhiraj under the pretext of watching a movie, with Pinki accompanying them to the theater. Narwat then threatened Dhiraj, demanding Rs 50 lakh, warning that he would have a rape case filed against him if he did not comply. After Dhiraj refused to pay, Narwat followed through on his threat, resulting in the false rape case. A case of extortion has already been registered against Narwat and police are actively questioning him while also seeking to apprehend the co-accused, Pinki.
