MC chief inspects Narsinghpur
The newly appointed Municipal Commissioner, Pradeep Dahiya, recently conducted a detailed inspection of Narsinghpur, one of the city's most waterlogged areas, to assess the preparedness for the upcoming monsoon season. The inspection focused on the stormwater drainage system, amid rising concerns over waterlogging and heavy rainfall in the area.
During the site visit, Dahiya issued clear instructions to engineering staff and field officers, emphasising the importance of ensuring no lapses in pre-monsoon preparations. He stressed the need for sufficient infrastructure to prevent flooding, urging all necessary work be completed well before the rainy season begins.
“To ensure the swift drainage of rainwater, additional water pipelines and pumps must be installed wherever necessary,” Dahiya said. “Flood-prone areas should be identified and their infrastructure should be reinforced. A comprehensive action plan must be in place to complete all essential tasks on time.”
The Commissioner also directed Municipal Corporation field teams to adopt a proactive approach and initiate ground-level work immediately. “Emergency equipment and personnel must be on standby to respond quickly to any unexpected situations during the monsoon,” he added. “Planning for additional water lines and dewatering mechanisms must begin without delay.”
During the inspection, Dahiya and his team reviewed several vulnerable locations and discussed the necessary infrastructure improvements to reduce waterlogging. He made it clear all monsoon-related work must be finished ahead of schedule, with dedicated teams ready to manage potential crises in
critical areas.
