At present, Gurugram has a power supply capacity of 6,000 MW. In view of the expansion of upcoming schemes, instructions were given to plan to increase its supply capacity to 9,000 MW. Increasing the capacity of power supply will lead to better power supply in Gurugram. The power corporation will remain capable of meeting the power demand of Gurugram.

Discussions were held on increasing the capacity of old substations from Sector 1 to 57 of Gurugram and building new substations. Orders were also issued to ensure the completion of the construction of substations on already identified land for building new substations in new sectors and identify the required land at other places and complete the process of its acquisition.

It was revealed that 220/33 kV substations had been built in Sector 65, 69, 72, 85, 95 and 107 of Gurugram. Another substation is under construction in Sector 99. Under the smooth supply of power, substations are proposed for power supply in Sector 61, 62, 67, 75A, 78, 102 and 110. Proposals are being given to provide land for the proposed substations in other areas as well.
