Social Welfare Minister and North-West Delhi in-charge, Ravinder Indraj Singh, on Wednesday conducted a field inspection in Ward 54, Rohini-D, reviewing sanitation arrangements and listening to residents’ grievances. He was accompanied by officials from the MCD, Delhi Development Authority, Delhi Jal Board and PWD. Local councillor Smita Kaushik was also present.

Residents highlighted growing encroachment around Samaypur Badli Metro Station and Divya Jyoti Apartments, citing traffic congestion and daily inconvenience. Responding to the complaints, Indraj directed all departments concerned to take coordinated action and ensure timely clearance of encroachments. He stressed that any area where public movement is obstructed must be prioritised to restore ease for residents and commuters.

During the inspection, the minister reviewed garbage collection, waste disposal systems, drain desilting, street lighting and civic amenities. He said maintaining cleanliness was essential for public welfare and remained a key priority for the Delhi Government. He also encouraged sanitation workers and frontline staff to continue working with dedication.

Indraj noted that civic development in several parts of Delhi had slowed under the previous government but said the current administration was reversing this trend through stronger on-ground monitoring.
