Punjab Rajya Sabha MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney during a discussion on the budget in the Parliament demanded a significant allocation for Punjab from the Rs 1.5 lakh crore long-term interest-free loans earmarked for the states. He addressed the need for equitable resource distribution to ensure the development of Punjab. He urged a review of the Agniveer scheme, recommending at least 50 per cent of Agniveers to be absorbed into paramilitary forces.
