Govt abolishes film appellate tribunal

Mumbai: The Ministry of Law and Justice has reportedly abolished the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal with immediate effect. Filmmakers and producers took to Twitter to express their disappointment. “Do HCs have a lot of time to address film certification grievances? How many film producers will have the means to approach courts?” filmmaker Hansal Mehta tweeted. — PTI

370 judicial officers shifted in Punjab, Haryana

Petrol costlier in Punjab after levy of infra tax

Chandigarh: With the levy of 25 paise per litre infrastructure cess, petrol and diesel have become dearer in Punjab. The cess would enable the state collect Rs 216 crore revenue annually.
