Amidst the ongoing controversy over the "poisoning" of the Yamuna river, PM Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched a scathing attack at AAP, saying "AAPda's ship would sink in the Yamuna" in these Assembly elections.

He said the people of the country would never forgive them for disrespecting the people of Haryana. "A former CM of Delhi has leveled disgusting allegations on the people of Haryana...You tell me are the people of Haryana different from Delhi. Their kids and relatives live in Delhi. Can they poison the water, which their kids are drinking," the PM asked during a rally in Delhi's Kartar Nagar.

AAP had entered into a political slugfest with the BJP, when former CM Arvind Kejriwal alleged that the BJP-ruled Haryana was releasing poison into the Yamuna and there was an attempt of genocide in the Capital.

Sharply reacting to the AAP's claims, the PM said he had been drinking the same water, which came from Haryana, for the past 11 years and was used by everyone in Delhi.

"Judges, foreign diplomats, ambassadors, be it the poor or rich, all drink the same water. Does AAP think the BJP government in Haryana will poison the water to kill Modi," the PM asked.

He went on to criticise the AAP convener for the extravagant cost to renovate his official residence. "Those who built ‘Sheesh Mahal’ and looted crores of public money can never think of the poor's welfare. That’s why these 'AAPda' people are going to Delhi slums and spreading lies,” Modi said.
