According to a complaint filed by Sunny, a resident of Ghazipur village in NIT Faridabad, his uncles Mahavir and Mahesh, along with their nephew Ravindra, were returning from a wedding in Amipur late Wednesday night. While the sedan was making a U-turn under the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway flyover near Sector 14-17 on the bypass road, a speeding SUV, coming from Ballabgarh, struck the car. The impact was so severe that the sedan was extensively damaged and its engine was dislodged.

“In the accident, Mahesh died on the spot while Mahavir, Ravindra, and the SUV driver Shubham were injured. The injured are receiving treatment in a private hospital. Mahesh was a workshop operator,” Sunny stated in his complaint.

Eyewitnesses said after hitting the sedan, the SUV smashed into the roadside grills. One of its wheels also detached in the collision, injuring the SUV’s driver.

“An FIR has been registered against Shubham, the SUV driver, who is also undergoing treatment in hospital. A further probe is underway,” said Inspector Madan Singh, SHO of the Sector 17 police station.
