A motorcycle-borne man was killed while seven passengers of a car were injured in a collision between three vehicles in Sohna on Wednesday. The injured were rushed to hospital for treatment.

The incident took place on the Gurugram-Sohna road near Sohna when a speeding pickup vehicle hit a car that was on its way from Sohna to Gurugram. The collision was so severe that car overturned and fell on the motorcycle rider. The victim, identified as 50-year-old Imran, a native of Sakras village in Nuh, died on the spot.

Seven people travelling in the car were also seriously injured while the driver of the pickup vehicle managed to flee the spot. The injured passengers were identified as Mahender Pal, Sanjeev Kumar, Shivraj, Subhash, Chhatrapal, Dinesh and Hardwari. They were rushed to a private hospital in Gurugram.

The police have taken all damaged vehicles into custody. An FIR has been registered against the driver of pickup vehicle at the Sohna city police station. “The body of the deceased was sent to the mortuary for the post-mortem examination while the injured are being treated in hospital. We are trying to nab the absconding driver,” said Sohna city police station SHO Inspector Praveen Malik.
