A cyber fraudster who was trying to escape to Egypt was arrested by the Gurugram police from Chennai Airport. The accused had converted the amount defrauded through cyber fraud into crypto currency.

According to the police, on January 31, a woman had filed a complaint that she was duped by some persons posing as government officials. They threatened to arrest her as her mobile numbers were involved in illegal activities. An FIR was registered at cyber-crime police station, West. Some accused were arrested earlier in this case while the main accused was arrested from Chennai airport on Wednesday.

The arrested accused has been identified as Ahamad Nisham (25), a native of Malappuram in Kerala. The accused revealed that he used to convert the defrauded amount into crypto currency and in return he used to get Rs 10,000.
