One nabbed for extorting Rs 1.27L from Faridabad man

The Faridabad cyber police have arrested a person for extorting Rs 1.27 lakh from a man by threatening to post obscene videos on social media. The accused was sent to two days’ police remand on Wednesday.
A Sector 17 resident filed a complaint, stating that he had received a video call from an unknown number, wherein a girl was not wearing clothes. The complainant’s face was visible in the video call. Following this, the thugs made an obscene video of him and started blackmailing him. He sent him Rs 1.27 lakh through UPI. When the accused demanded more money from him, he refused and approached the police.

An FIR was registered. The arrested accused was identified as Akram.
