Prime Minister Narendra Modi called upon the world not to despair due to the recurring waves of the Covid-19 pandemic and instead “repair and prepare” as India is currently doing.

PM Modi also called for insulating the planet against the next pandemic by sustainable lifestyles that stop ecological degradation and strengthening cooperation in research and innovation.

“This time last year, the world was still seeking a vaccine. Today, we have quite a few. Similarly, we have to continue repairing health infrastructure and our economies,” the PM said while delivering the keynote address at the fifth VivaTech, one of the largest digital and startup events in Europe held in Paris.

Spanish PM Pedro Sanchez said cutting-edge technology, knowledge and innovation were keys to resilience in any type of crisis. French President Emmanuel Macron and CEOs of several digital giants, including Facebook, also spoke. — TNS
