A property dealer was shot dead during the morning walk in Vijay Mandal Park, Begumpur, South Delhi, the police said.

At 9.53 am, a PCR call was received at the Malviya Nagar Police station regarding a firing near Vijay Mandal Park, Begumpur.

The victim, Lakhpat Singh Kataria (55), who reportedly sustained gunshot injuries, was shifted to Hospital, where he succumbed to injuries, an official said.

As per preliminary interrogation, two men opened fire at him and fled the spot on a bike, the official added.

A case has been registered in this regard and efforts are being made to nab the accused, the police mentioned. The official said primary investigations suggest that the motive behind the attack stemmed from a personal enmity.
