Raid at hookah bar, operator held

A joint team of the CM’s flying squad and Gurugram police conducted a raid at an illegal hookah bar being run in a club in Conscient One mall on Dwarka expressway. The police nabbed the operator of the club as hookahs containing nicotine were being served there. Two hookahs and six packets of flavoured tobacco were also recovered from the spot.

According to the police, the raid was conducted on Thursday night at Elite Roxxie 15 Club, located on the second floor of Conscient One mall in Sector 109. The team found two persons consuming banned flavoured hookah in the open cabin near the gate of the club. Licence and permit in this regard were sought from the club operator, who could not present any documents. The club operator identified as Indraj Bhati, a resident of Behrampur village, was arrested by the police.

Following ASI Sanjeet’s complaint, an FIR was registered against the club operator under Section 21-A of the COPTA Act at Bajghera police station.

“The accused was let off on bail after he joined the investigation while a further probe is underway,” said Sub Inspector Kailash Chand, the investigating officer.
