The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued hailstorm alert for the region, with an ‘orange’ alert in place for Delhi.

The rain, which began early in the morning, continued throughout the day, bringing down the temperature. Delhi’s minimum temperature was recorded at 11°C, while the maximum was 15°C.

The weather department has predicted additional showers over the next few hours, primarily due to a Western Disturbance interacting with easterly winds.

The IMD has issued ‘yellow’ alert for Delhi on Saturday and Sunday, indicating moderate weather conditions.

The rain affected several parts of North, Central, and South Delhi with traffic disruptions due to waterlogging in low-lying areas. The highest rain was recorded at Delhi University’s North Campus, and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) reported 13 complaints related to weather-related issues from Thursday night till Friday evening. Nine of these complaints were about waterlogging, while the remaining were regarding fallen trees.
