Registration for Delhi govt schemes for women, senior citizens begins today

AAP national convener and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced the launch of two major welfare schemes—‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana’ and ‘Sanjeevani Yojana’—with registration beginning on Monday, December 23. The schemes will provide Rs 2,100 per month to women and free healthcare for senior citizens over 60.

Under the ‘Mahila Samman Yojana,’ all women aged 18 and above in Delhi will receive Rs 2,100 monthly, which Kejriwal explained would help ease financial pressures. “This money will assist women with household expenses, continue their education, and support families,” he said. The ‘Sanjeevani Yojana’ promises free medical treatment at both private and government hospitals for senior citizens. “No senior citizen will need to worry about the cost of treatment,” Kejriwal stated.

To make the registration process easy, AAP workers will go door-to-door to register eligible women and senior citizens for the schemes. “You won’t have to stand in long lines. Our teams will visit your home and register you for the schemes,” Kejriwal assured. He also urged Delhi residents to ensure they have their voter ID ready, as both schemes require registration as a Delhi voter.

Delhi CM Atishi estimated that around 35-40 lakh women and 10-15 lakh senior citizens would benefit from these schemes. “This is a big step in securing the future of women and senior citizens in Delhi,” she said.

The registration for both schemes will begin on Monday, and Kejriwal, along with Sisodia and Atishi, will personally visit areas across Delhi to assist residents with the registration process.
