The PM’s office posted a photo from the meeting on its X account. The meeting came after key decisions were made regarding the CAG report and the Ayushman Bharat Scheme on the day of the oath-taking ceremony on Thursday. The next day, private staff services were discontinued as part of the administrative reforms.
“Under your (PM Modi) guidance and leadership, the double-engine government of the BJP is committed to transforming the dreams of Delhiites into a developed Delhi by following the path of public welfare and good governance,” CM Gupta posted on X.
Gupta also held a meeting with officials from the Public Works Department (PWD) focusing on improving the city’s infrastructure and expediting the repair of damaged roads.
“We will utilise every single day. The day before yesterday, we took the oath and held our first Cabinet meeting. In that very first Cabinet meeting, we approved PM Modi’s vision for Delhi — the Ayushman Yojana — and delivered it to the people on the very first day. Today is the third day, and I am continuously holding meetings with various departments. I will not waste even a single day for the people of Delhi. There is only one vision — PM Modi’s developed Delhi,” she said while addressing supporters outside her residence in Shalimar Bagh.
The Delhi BJP also took to social media platform X, stating, “Chief Minister @gupta_rekha held a meeting with officials of the PWD in the direction of improving the infrastructure of Delhi and also discussed in detail the issues related to dug-up roads, damaged roads and traffic in Delhi and gave directions to officials concerned.”
Meanwhile, Delhi PWD Minister Parvesh Verma inspected the projects along Bhairon Marg to Sarai Kale Khan stretch on Ring Road. He interacted with officials and constituents to address grievances and ensure smooth project execution.
“Make such a road which is good for 10-15 years. Though five years is the official time, you (the official) make sure it is good for 10-15 years,” Verma was heard instructing officials in front of reporters. He also inquired about a four-km stretch under repair and how traffic congestion was being managed during road closures. Officials informed him that the work was carried out in phases and mostly done at night to minimise disruption.
Other Cabinet ministers Ashish Sood, Kapil Mishra and Pankaj Kumar Singh inspected sanitation-related works, infrastructure and hospitals, respectively.
The newly-elected MLAs in Delhi will take their oaths on February 25, marking the formal beginning of the new legislative term. Additionally, on February 26, the government will table 14 pending CAG reports that were delayed during the tenure of the previous AAP government. CM Gupta approved the decision to table the reports in her first Cabinet meeting.
