Road mishaps snuff out 2 lives in 24 hours

In the first incident, a boy riding a bicycle was killed after being hit by a truck on October 11. A PCR call was received at the Sangam Vihar police station regarding an accident near Dhawan Farm, H Block.
When the police reached the spot, the boy (11), a resident of Sangam Vihar, had already been taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. The truck driver fled the spot after the mishap.
The police seized the truck and registered a case under relevant sections of law. Efforts are on to trace the absconding driver.
In another incident, a five-year-old boy died after being run over by an e-rickshaw in H Block, Sangam Vihar, on Monday.
After getting information, the police reached the spot. They cordoned off the area and called the crime and FSL teams for inspection.
Inquiry revealed that a child accidentally started the e-rickshaw, which was parked in the lane. The e-rickshaw moved suddenly, crushing the five-year-old boy underneath.
The boy was a resident of Sangam Vihar. His father was reportedly in Bihar for work, while his uncle was present at the spot when the incident occurred.
The police have registered a case under relevant provisions of the BNS.
