Rohit Godara gang’s shooter nabbed after encounter

A sharpshooter associated with the Rohit Godara gang was arrested following an encounter with the police in the Rohini area, they said on Thursday.

The accused has been identified as Ankit, a resident of Bhiwani in Haryana. Several criminal cases were registered against him in the state.

According to police sources, he came to Delhi with an intention of opening fire on the premises of a businessman. Based on the tip-off, the Special Cell tracked him. Ankit was arrested after an exchange of fire. He sustained a bullet injury on his leg during the exchange of fire and has been admitted to a hospital.

According to police sources, Godara is currently based abroad and is orchestrating criminal activities in India through his network of associates.

His name surfaced in a court firing case where unidentified assailants opened fire at a man in broad daylight at the Bhiwani district court complex. His gang has claimed responsibility for the attack.
