According to the complaint filed by Hemant Bhatia, son of the deceased, it was on Sunday night when Prashant was working with Kewal Kishan Bhatia to unload goods from the store’s basement warehouse. During this, a shoe box fell on Prashant, hitting him in the face. It is alleged that Prashant then started arguing with his father Kewal Kishan, and a scuffle soon ensued between them.

“During the assault, my father was punched in the head and face by Prashant which caused him to fall unconscious. Others immediately rushed him to a private hospital, where doctors declared him dead,” Amit Bhatia said in his complaint. “We handed over the body to the kin after the postmortem today. We are conducting raids to nab the accused who will be arrested soon,” ASI Kulveer, the investigating officer, said.
