The Supreme Court on Thursday told Punjab, Haryana and the Bhakra Beas Management Board to maintain status quo on the supply of water to Delhi till Friday.

A Bench led by Chief Justice SA Bobde put on hold the decision by the two states and the BBMB to reduce water supply to Delhi by 25 per cent in view of repair work in a canal.

The top court asked the two states and the BBMB to file their response to the plea by Delhi Jal Board opposing the move to curtail the amount of water supplied to Delhi.
