The Delhi government is preparing a proposal to convert the controversial ‘Sheesh Mahal’ bungalow, official residence of former CM Arvind Kejriwal and linked to corruption allegations, into a state guest house with a cafeteria, an official said on Saturday.

Located at 6, Flagstaff Road in Civil Lines, the bungalow may soon feature a canteen offering traditional dishes, similar to the dining facilities in other state Bhawans across the Capital. The government intends to open this food outlet to the public, the official added.

The draft plan also includes the creation of a parking lot, waiting lounge and other facilities for visitors.

Like other guest houses run by states in Delhi, the facility would provide accommodation to visiting officials and ministers for meetings or training programmes, who would pay for the stay.
