Stray cattle pose risk to commuters

The number of stray cattle has significantly increased over the past few years. Their presence on road poses a risk to their own lives as well as to commuters. Besides, a majority of these animals can be seen feeding on civic waste, which often includes plastic and non-biodegradable items dumped in the open. The government must come up with a long-term plan to curb stray cattle menace without violating animal rights. Ajay Bahl, Faridabad

Citizens must join hands to keep Gurugram clean

Funds to the tune of several crore rupees are being spent on mitigating the sanitation and waste management crises in Gurugram. Yet, garbage somehow finds its way on roadsides and open spaces, even in the posh areas of the city. Apart from the civic authorities who seem to be at a loss to understand the situation, residents littering at public places and dumping household waste in the open are equally to be blamed. The public must join hands to ensure cleanliness in Gurugram, otherwise waste management would remain a daunting task for the MC. Ramesh Gupta, Gurugram
