The police said Bhumika had attended a friend’s birthday party on Monday evening. She returned to her room around midnight and later allegedly hanged herself. Officers from the Bilaspur police station arrived, took the body and sent it for postmortem. The family was informed soon after. The police said no suicide note was recovered. “Prima facie, it appears suicide case. However, acting on the family’s request, a board of doctors conducted the postmortem.” said Inspector Dilbag Singh.
