In a tragic accident, a taxi driver got burnt alive in his car in the Sector 85 area. Preliminary investigations indicate that the cause of the fire was a CNG leak in the car. The police have handed over the body to the kin after the postmortem today.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Ajay, a resident of Purani Bhupani, Faridabad. Ajay worked as a taxi driver. Looking for a booking, he arrived in Sector 85 around 4.30 pm on Sunday evening . He parked his car near Master Road and rested inside.
The gas began leaking from the car. Ajay, smelling the fumes, tried to start the car, and a fire broke out. The car doors got jammed due to the flames, preventing him from getting out. Pedestrians immediately informed the Fire Department and the police. But, by the time the firefighters arrived, Ajay had died. The police broke open the car door and pulled out his body. “The matter is under investigation,” the SHO of the BPTP Police Station, said.
