The police booked an unidentified man on Thursday. Officials swung into action after the victim, who works as a model and an Instagram influencer, shared the video on social media and demanded action.

The woman said the incident occurred after she got off a bus from Jaipur on August 2. Despite sharing videos of the episode on social media platform X and tagging the police, officials and women’s welfare bodies, she alleged that no action was taken. Following this, an FIR was registered under Sections 75 (2) (sexual harassment) and 78 (stalking) of the BNS at the Civil Lines police station.

A police spokesperson said several efforts were made to identify the accused. The police team examined the footage of CCTV cameras at the crime scene and nearby areas. The police finally arrested the accused, who was identified as Abhilash Kumar (32), in Gurugram.

He said while he was returning from a parent-teacher meeting at his son’s school to his home, he stopped at Rajiv Chowk on the way and during this time, he committed the crime. We are questioning the accused,” the spokesman said.
