According to officials, a PCR call was received on June 2 regarding an unconscious and bleeding boy near Durga Mandir in Taliwalan Basti. After getting information, a police team rushed to the spot and found the teenager grievously injured. He was immediately taken to RML Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

An eyewitness, who was accompanying the victim at the time, told the police that they were walking home when they were attacked from behind by two unidentified assailants wielding a knife. The attackers fled the scene immediately after the assault.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Nidhin Valsan said a case was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and a detailed investigation was launched.
