The Delhi BJP Poorvanchal Morcha organised a large-scale protest outside former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence on Friday, condemning his recent derogatory comments referring to Poorvanchalis as “fake voters”. The protest, led by NDMC member Dinesh Pratap Singh and Morcha president Santosh Ojha, featured slogans such as “Litti Chokha khayenge, Kejriwal ko bhagayenge” and “Daal bhaat khayenge, Kejriwal ko bhagayenge” as protesters gathered outside the former CM’s residence at 5 Feroze Shah Road.

BJP leaders, including Laxmi Nagar MLA Abhay Verma, Yuva Morcha president Sagar Tyagi, Mahila Morcha president Richa Pandey Mishra, and several others participated in the protest. The protestors attempted to march towards Kejriwal’s residence but were stopped by police barricades and water cannons, resulting in the detention of many protestors. Santosh Ojha, president of the Poorvanchal Morcha, accused Kejriwal of betraying the community, using them as mere vote banks. “He has deceived us for over a decade,” Ojha asserted, also alleging that Kejriwal has supported Rohingyas and Bangladeshis while sidelining Poorvanchalis. “This time, Poorvanchalis will play a significant role in removing Kejriwal from power,” he added.

Abhay Verma highlighted the irony in Kejriwal’s comments, saying, “People from Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Punjab are considered Delhiites, but those from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are discriminated against.”

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari visited the detained protestors at Mandir Marg police station, where they were later released after a warning. Tiwari expressed his outrage at Kejriwal’s comments. He said, “He insulted not just Poorvanchalis but also auto-rickshaw drivers, slum dwellers, and artisans”.
