Three Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councillors and a former party leader joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday. The defections were marked by a formal induction ceremony in the presence of Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva.

The three AAP councillors who joined the BJP are Anita Basoya from Ward 145 (Andrews Ganj), Nikhil Chaprana from Ward 183, and Dharamveer from Ward 152. Additionally, Sandeep Basoya, former New Delhi district president of AAP, also joined the BJP, further bolstering the party’s presence in Delhi.

This latest development comes days after the BJP’s impressive victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, where it secured 48 seats. The defection of key AAP members is a major setback for the party as it prepares for the upcoming Delhi Municipal Corporation mayoral elections later this year.
