She was later identified as Nirmala, alias Bengalan (30), wife of Shiv Kumar, a resident of Khajuri Khas, Delhi. She was declared brought dead at the hospital.

Another woman, Firozi (30), wife of Mohd Dulare, also from Khajuri Khas, was found injured and rushed to BJRM Hospital, before being referred to LNJP Hospital for further treatment.

The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

During investigation, it emerged that Nirmala worked for Alam, who had allegedly assaulted the wife and associates of the main accused, Vicky (28), a resident of Shakurpur Basti, a few days ago.

Seeking revenge, Vicky conspired with Ankit, alias Alok (18), and a child in conflict with law (CCL), both residents of Mukandpur.

Vicky reportedly took Ankit and the juvenile to the spot on his scooter, where Ankit allegedly attacked the two women with a knife, mistaking them for associates of Alam.

All three accused have been arrested and detained, the police said.
