The child was taken to the Child Welfare Committee for counselling.
The incident occurred late Sunday in Bhim Bagh, Sohna, where gardener Shiv Murthy alias Sandeep lived with his wife and daughter. Around 11.50 pm, after putting away a lawnmower, Sandeep’s wife returned to find their daughter missing. The couple’s search proved unsuccessful, prompting them to alert police.
CCTV footage showed a man carrying the girl. Acting on a tip from Alampur village, police raided the area last night and recovered the child, but the suspect escaped. “The motive will be clear after the arrest. The girl is safe, and investigations are ongoing,” said Sohna ACP Jitender Kumar.
