Truth and honesty won in the end: Sisodia to party workers

Former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia here today said it took 17 months, but in the end truth and honesty won.

Sisodia was addressing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers for the first time since his arrest in the alleged excise policy scam.

Sisodia, in the morning, shared a photograph on X with his wife captioned, “Azzadi ki subah ki pehli chai (First morning tea of independence)... after 17 months!”

“The freedom guaranteed to us by the Constitution is our right to live. The freedom given to us by God is to breathe the open air alongside everyone,” he said in his post.

Later, he visited Hanuman Mandir in Connaught Place, accompanied by Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, Delhi Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj, AAP MLAs and party workers.

Addressing the media after his visit, Sisodia expressed confidence in the divine blessings, not only for himself, but also for AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal and the people of the country.

“Lord Bajrang Bali has blessed me. Kejriwal also has the blessings of Lord Bajrang Bali and you will see that Kejriwal ji will also be blessed in the same way,” Sisodia said.

Singh said we would pledge to take forward the fight for education, health, electricity, water and facilities for the common man that started under the leadership of Kejriwal.

He attacked the BJP-led Central Government for the “politics of hatred and revenge”, referring to the prolonged detention of AAP leaders.

Following the prayers at the temple, Sisodia, along with party leaders, visited Rajghat to pay tributes to Mahatma Gandhi.

Addressing a sea of party workers at the party headquarters, he said, “We are just horses of a chariot, but our real ‘saarthi’ is in jail, he will come out soon,” remarking at the incarceration of Kejriwal.

“The BJP, which claims to be the largest party in the world, has failed to demonstrate in any state that honest work is being carried out in its governance,” he added.

Targeting the BJP, he said these people are not powerful than the Constitution, thanking the Supreme Court once again for granting him bail.

“Every person has to fight against this ‘dictatorship’ which is not just putting leaders in jail, but also harassing citizens,” he added.

Sisodia asked everyone to unite to fight the “dictatorship” in the country.

“I want to tell those who have recently joined the NDA. Don’t think only the AAP leaders will go to jail, their turn will also come. If the Opposition comes together and raises its voice, Kejriwal will also come out within 24 hours,” the former Deputy CM said.
